Description

GeoFill acoustic insulation is a fine fibre, non-woven polyester with excellent sound-absorbing and thermal insulation properties. The product is resistant to fuel, oil and grease – benefitting the long-lasting lifespan of the product when installed under recommended applications. Lightweight and hydrophobic (non-wicking), making it suitable for high humidity applications. It is typically installed in cavities and voids in building structures, heavy transport vehicles, trains, and large boats. The product is also suitable to use in making baffle absorbers or office partitions. Being a low irritant product, it provides a safer and more comfortable product for operators to handle compared to fibreglass or mineral wool alternatives. GeoFill is also easy to install by simply cutting using scissors or a retractable utility knife. If required, the product is available with various facing options to meet customer specification.

GeoFill™ is made from natural polyester fiber thermally bonded to provide the rigidity and porosity required for broadband acoustic absorption. No chemicals are used during manufacture. These high performance acoustic polyester insulation batts help with reducing unwanted noise transfer through walls & ceilings to create quieter living spaces, for higher noise level situations, particularly suitable for media rooms or between floors.

Nankarrow GeoFill is itch free, contain no Formaldehdye Binders, require no protective clothing to install, making them a safe insulation option for you & your family. Polyester Acoustic Insulation Batts also have a Zero Ozone Depleting (ODP) rating, contain negligible Volatile Organic Compunds (VOC’s) and 80% of the fibers that go into these polyester batts are recycled from plastic bags & other packaging materials, so they are safer for the planet too. GeoFill also meets the ASTM E84 standard for fire safety.

GeoFill is superior to both rockwool & glasswool, because its fibers are not bound together with any chemical binder so they do not clump together. This allows extremely low flow resistivity values which helps you achieve the most linear absorption curve. This in turn helps create a natural sounding acoustic environment. Based on air flow resistivity values, we recommend the following thickness of GeoFill for your acoustic panels

• For 2″ to 4″ thickness use GeoFill 40 kg/m3 slabs (Air Flow resistivity 12800 Pa. s/m²)
• for 6″ to 8″ thickness use GeoFill 20 kg/m3 slabs (Air flow resistivity 9600 Pa. s/m²)
• for 10″ and more thickness use GeoFill 10kg/m3 (Air flow resistivity 6200 Pa. s/m²)
